Red Horse" zodiac stamp on December 12, 2025. This marks the country’s second release of a stamp aligned with the Chinese zodiac theme, following the rabbit-patterned New Year stamp issued on December 15, 2022.

The issuance announcement noted it as a "symbol of the coming year," and its name explicitly includes "Red Horse (Year of the Red Horse)." All these characteristics satisfy the core requirements for defining a zodiac stamp.

After verification by the research association, it was confirmed that Russia’s rabbit-patterned New Year stamp issued in 2022 was the country’s first zodiac stamp. This pattern of intermittent initial releases bears a notable resemblance to Japan’s experience when it began issuing zodiac stamps in the 1950s. In 1950, Japan issued a Year of the Tiger New Year stamp, becoming the first country in the world to release stamps featuring zodiac elements. Its early issuance model also underwent a gradual process of standardization.
